I am using software called ADmitMac to integrate our Mac machines into Active Directory, and I am having problems migrating user profiles from local profiles to domain profiles. That is, the local user has been using the machine for some time, and now I'd like these users to log into their Macs using their Active Directory credentials. The new profile itself is still "local" but it's technically a different user account, obtaining it's login name and password from Active Directory.
I am basically trying to duplicate a user profile. Does anyone know how I can do this?
I tried enabling the
root account and simply copying the profile in its entirety, but that caused some problems, the most obvious of which was not being able to change the background, and the profile wasn't applied correctly. I assume this is a permissions problem on some of the PLIST files, but I'm not sure.
Anyone have any ideas?
EDIT: I'd like to mention that I need ALL data, preferences, etc. migrated to the new profile. I want it to be an exact duplicate of the original profile if possible.
Thanks in advance!
