Activate Iphone with out SIM card
HI! im new to this forum (And im new Apple products... Used to be an Apple Hater until my friend sold me his old USED iphone when he upgraded to the 3GS).
I have determined that it is an Iphone 1st generation. When I turn it on, I see a screen that says to insert a SIM card, or make an emergency call. All I would like to do is activate the phone so that I can use it as an iTouch with a camera. I have done a little bit of reading on Jailbreaking, but I am unsure which program to use. I also have no clue as to what firmware i have  . I tried to ask my friend what firmware he had, but he did not know.I am somewhat technologically savy and I have hacked a psp to custom firmware. Thanks!
