I don't get a response from the iPhone at all. It's a 2g at 3.0 firmware if that makes a difference.

FYI: I tried this method on a 3G iPhone running firmware 3.0 and it put the phone in recovery mode instead of DFU mode.

FYI:
One thing that I noticed after running the command line utility is that when the phone is off and I plug in the connected USB to either the power adapter or a computer, the phone goes into recovery mode! However, I turn it off and on again and it's back to normal. I'm not sure if this is due to the busted home button triggering the recovery mode or if the utility changed the phone settings to do this. I noticed it before the jailbreak so I tried an iTunes restore and the behavior still occurred. THEN I jailbroke (for the first time ever) and it still occurs. No big deal though since it goes away after rebooting. |
