Trying to uise PwnageTool 3.0 to update a 2.1 2G ipHone using MAC OSX 10.4.11 and it keeps crashing.

I have already downloaded iTunes 8.2 and made sure iTunes is working with iTunes store.

pwnagetool 3.0 downloaded from iclarifed and from dev.team.

I'm unable to complete the Building IPSW step.

Any Ideas?

I too have the same problem - PwnageTool 3.0 keeps crashing. Im using a Powerbook G4 running OSX 10.4.11. When I try to copy PwnageTool to my desktop from the Disk Image, I get a warning saying "One or more items have special permissions and cannot be copied". If I then click "continue", PwnageTool gets copied to my desktop but crashes when creating a custom ipsw. Obviously this must be because some of the PwnageTool files were not copied from the Disk Image. Any ideas how I can set permissions so that all files from the Disk Image are copied?

pnawge 3.0 is for intel only not ppc

Thanks for Replying Bianca, but are you sure PwnageTool 3.0 does not work with PPC? It does not say so on the Dev-Team Blog. On the other hand they do clearly say that Redsn0w has some issues on PPC so I presume they would have said so if PwnageTool 3.0 was not compatible with PPC.

Ironically I have successfully used Redsn0w to unlock my iPhone 2G but want to try unlocking with PwangeTool because I simply cant get the custom APN settings menu no matter what I try after unlocking with Redsn0w. Maybe unlocking with Pwange might solve that problem.
