can you attack a USB mouse and try it? Dont know what went wrong for you. Have exactly the same model and sucessfully applied the patch. When booting into safe mode, did a windows pop up, telling you that you are in safe mode? If not, you did not enter safe mode. The Macbook has to be shut down (not restart). Then press the start button and hold shift - keep holding it 8only the left one). May take a few minutes and a window has to pop up. please try again and report back.

Tried a USB mouse and will initially light up once mac turns on, but won't work after that. Tried safe booting again and each time I do, it'll take me to my login screen with safe boot in red, but I can't type in my password or move the mouse.

A workaround: start from dvd, download the combo-update 10.5.6 then at http://www.apple.com/downloads/macos...mboupdate.html start the updater then and choose the internal HD. This will do. this involves a bigger download but brings the Macbook back to standard 10.5.6. I often had to use it when my Macs run into trouble.

Great!!!! I will try this one tomorrow. It makes sense to me. The "regular" 10.5.5 files are working - we know that. The unibody Macbook had 10.5.5, BUT - I guess apple had already used the two files from 10.5.6. Replacing them with the "regular" from 10.5.5 - the one's in the package of the Automator app - make DFU work on unibody Macbooks - cool. Let me point out one thing: All thanks goes to the iPhone Dev Team. besides doing all the great work for unlocking our iPhone's the Dev Team pubished in their last blog entry on the upcoming unlock one additional note (http://blog.iphone-dev.org/post/6512...on-to-be-jolly) Quote:
happy hacking, v.
