You Mac is screwed cause probably while rebuilding the kext cache power got off. I do the following. 1. Shut down (not restart) the Mac 2. Start the Mac while holding "Shift". Start process will take a while (2 minutes here) 3. You will see a dialog telling you the Mac booted in safe mode (only essential extensions are loaded. Keyboard and Mouse will work.) 4. If you see a folder "Backup_IOUSBFamily_kext_10_5_6" on your desktop, copy it to your harddrive or into Documents (contains the backup of the two 10.5.6 files) 5. Run the Automator programm again - hopefully power will stay 6. After the automatic reboot you'll be back in business

Holy frick! My unibody MacBook Pro just recognized my iPhone in DFU mode.
![]() Here's what I did Copied AppleUSBHub.kext and IOUSBCompositeDriver.kext from an unibody MBP with Mac OS X 10.5.5 to /System/Library/Extensions/ Chowned -R both files to root:wheel Chmoded both files to 755 Rebuild the kext cache Touch /System/Library/Extensions/ Force reboot my mac (sudo reboot) If someone's interested in getting the kexts from the unibody MBP with 10.5.5 you can get them here: http://ifile.it/mq14k9e |

I tried this workaround and like a few others, it placed a backup folder on my desktop and quit all of my apps, but it never restarted. I then tried to re-jailbreak my iPhone, but it didn't work. That's when I decided I would try to redo the automator script by moving the backup folder from my desktop to my documents folder then restarted my MacBook in safe boot only to find the keyboard and trackpad were not working. Tried shutting down and starting up normally and keyboard/t.pad wouldn't work. I would greatly appreciate any help!!!
Typing this long on iPhone kinda sucks. |

Anyway, shut down the MacBook. Then start it while holding "Shift". Keep holding until the MacBook is started, this may take 1-2 minutes. Trackpad and keyboard should work then. Start the automator app again. remember the folder has to sit on the desktop and you have to be logged in with admin account!
