I used Volksposts automator script... it WORKS!
The script is found here http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/f146...post374065.htm Here's how to get a successful install. STEP 1 Get the script found in the first post by Volksposts STEP 2 Where ever you download the script too MAKE DAMNED SURE ITS ON YOUR DESKTOP STEP 3 BE DAMNED SURE THE THE FOLDER IS ON YOUR DESKTOP STEP 4 BE DAMNED SURE THE THE FOLDER IS ON YOUR DESKTOP STEP 5 CHECK AGAIN... is the FOLDER ON THE DESKTOP? STEP 6 SAY ALOUND 5 TIMES "I have made sure I put the wonderful script from Volkspost on the desktop" Step 7 Get a friend to check that the folder is on the desktop! Step 8 Follow Volkspost Post... Ok if you are like me after doing it right... got DFUed successfully ... and then jsut as u thing all's clear you get a freaking crap error message from iTunes .... This is what you do next 1. Go into /your user name/library/itunes/device support 2. If there is a file in there delete it. 3. Build a NEW... NEW ... YES ... NEW custom firmware... put it on your desktop. 4. At the end tell pwnage your phone has never been pwned before and put your device into DFU. 5. iTunes will usually come up with some kind of error. 6. Close iTunes... reopen iTunes. 7. Restore to your custom firmware. Then WAH LAH ERROR LOOP BROKEN!! Hope it works for you! |

Hey r0ckman, you rock!
It is really the only way to screw up if you dont start the script from the Desktop! So: Make sure to start it from the Desktop and you'll be fine.

From what I've read, it seems like a lot of the people having trouble with this originally had the password field filled out before they typed theirs out...I'm curious about this, because my password field was filled out, too, and I got too scared to go through with it. Has anyone encountered this and had a successful process?

I tried this on a Macbook air with no luck, then I decided to delete the files, thinking it was no biggie. Yeah, NOTHING WILL WORK NOW!
I've tried the safe mode...external keyboard/mouse...the works...NOTHING. The USB won't work so the disk drive won't work. ![]() I'm becoming stressed at all of this now... HELP! |
