There is probably a windows (the one with the automator app) in front of a dialog box where you have to enter your admin password. Close the windows showing the automator app and the two files and you'll see it. then enter your admin password and hit ok. the rest will be done automatically.

There are no other windows open. The only things running are the Folder for the application, and Finder.

okay i went ahead and shut down and turned my computer on.
now i cant get my mouse or keyboard to work (same problem as everyone)
however, they keyboard and mouse dont work in both regular booting and safe boot.

I cant access anything.
What do I do?
I'm about to cry.

You probably got the kext files screwed up during the first try, after reboot the cache got refreshed automatically and...

I have been trying several methods, depending on the setup ppl have. If screen sharing is running it can be done remote, if Firewire is present and another Mac you can boot the Mac in target mode.
You need to run the combo update this will heal the problem.

Hello fellow members & forum users, I am new here and have looked through the site yet still have not found exactly how to nail my problem which is why I am posting this request for help.
I have been a pc user for 12yrs and last year made a great investment and bought mac book pro. I also have an Iphone (believe generation 2 thats around a year old) jail broke my phone about 6 months ago so I could get more out of it.

While I was away my partner was using it and seen the request for firmware update and so updated it to 2.2.1 :{


and so I now have a phone that is locked and when ever I triy to jailbreak it myself it just keeps bringing me back to either phone lock or Itunes restore where it asks for an .ipsw but cant locate it?
If I can get the help to make my phone work again I'd be really happy.


She did back up the system befor the firmware update and that was an ipsw file but it does not accept that in the restore.

ps I have tried to jail break on the mac using pwnage 2.5 and it seemed to work until after the final restart when it just went back into locked mode.
I can prove it is my phone as I have copies of texts emails sent from it up until a few days ago

hi all

ive tried to download what unkle said but i have an iBook G4 and its my brand spanking new imac that is buggard! so when i try to download the file it says my iBook is not compatible with the download!

Also i dont want to restore my imac because i have a lot of work on there!

can anyone help please

Isn't it easier to just connect the iphone to a powered USB hub? I would never downgrade USB drivers just for this.

Ive done it!! not using UNKLE of the other blokes methods but thank you both very much ive learnt loads about terminal!

I just butted up the Disk that came with the imac went to utilities and fixed the hard drive. At first it came up saying there was errors that it could not fix saying stuff like the permissions have been changed and can not be put back. But i persisted with the fix hard drive solution and must of click repair about 5 times and click on other buttons to fix it and IT WORKED!! it rise from the dead

It felt so good to have my beautiful imac back!! (i love you so much i promise never ever to hurt you like that ever again)


i mean right lets try that again without FoKing up my imac
