I think some people are not yet clear about the fact that the Dev Team PwnageTool 2.0, is not an unlock for the new 3G iPhone.

repeat:

PwnageTool 2.0 is not an UNLOCK for the new 3G iPhone.

In the US, you will NOT be able to use Tmobile on the new 3G iPhone, after using PwnageTool 2.0

What PwnageTool 2.0 does is make it possible for an unlocked original model, 2G iPhone to use the new FW 2.0.. thats all

Even when there IS an unlock for the 3G iPhone, Tmobile USA does not support the 3G channel the iPhone uses..

so the only real advantage to a 3G iPhone in the US, is you get GPS, with no navigation software, and you get the right to pay ATT $35 more per month than it costs on Tmobile, so you can use 3G internet.. IF you have phone reception..

Im still very happy with my original iPhone, FW 1.1.4, on Tmobile USA. I get reception at my house, with ATT I do not get reception at home.

Moral of the story
Dont get a new 3G iPhone if you dont want to use ATT, cause PwnageTool 2.0 wont unlock it..

Checkout the Sim & cloning section - somebody claims they have unlocked it (3G) using universal sim

if you had paid attention to what the dev team where saying
"So guys, the out of the box tests on retail hardware are great. Everything works as we anticipated. This is great news, seriously. No riddles or jokes or cryptic messages now, watch this space"
that indicates they are working on it for the 3G iphone as well which is now comfirmed by their new post which includes the 3G iphone in the pwnage 2.0

total agreement, so far they have jailbreak, no unlock, which is why I think they are not releasing yet

imagine how many people with 3G phones would run Pwnage2.0 assuming it would unlock their 3G phone, and end up with iTouches, no ability to make phone calls.. not a happy day for Dev Team, or anyone else.

fwiw, I dont blame anyone for thinking Pawnage2.0 is an unlock, you really have to read the fine print to figure out its not. The videos give the impression that Pawn2 will unlock 3G.. but they admit it wont (yet), if you dig deep enough

I'm totally sorry, but this statement just tells me that you don't have a clue what you're talking about.

There'll never be an "TurboSIM-like" unlock again, as it's nothing "amazing" the TurboSIM and similar SIM-cards did and Apple closed the leak there some time ago.

Also, to answer your statement about there not being an unlock for the iPhone 3G - that's bullshit (I'm sorry for using this word, but it is!!)!

Also it's total stupidity to tell that there will be no reception in T-Mobile networks with the iPhone 3G - a 3G-phone always can use the 2G-network for reception matters. Then it uses EDGE or GPRS or whatever available.
