Default Help with iDeneb 10.5.5

I've been attempting to install the iDeneb 10.5.5 distro with the nforce patch applied. Booting disc with -v option simply sits there with:

Still waiting on root device

I've tried using rd=disk0s1 as well, which seems to get further, but simply hangs.

My system is:

Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-M55SLI-S4
CPU - AMD 4600+ 64x2
RAM - 2GB DDR2 667MHz
HDD - 3x Sata, 2x Pata
DVD - Pioneer Sata DVD-Burner

Any help would be appreciated.

i had this problem a while back. i remember it had something to do with the hard drive configuration i.e. the master/slave settings, either with the jumper pins on the dvd/hard drives, or in the bios. can't remember exactly but that is how i fixed it and should get you on the right path.

ok i begin to suspect my problem is the fact that my motherboard is based on an nforce4 chipset which doesnt allow for enabling of AHCI in the bios. Am I out of luck, or is there still some way of making this CD boot?
