Iono if we are asking too much but I think we should pay a bit to macnut to help us with this to get some BIOS MOD from different Models, starting with urs, you are always here... Please post your latest HP Original BIOS. I will send some to Macnut for help us.

BTW I'm preparing to use Retail, this will the ultimate Tutorial, ima try all the latest distro too, ideneb, xxx and iPC... to get some answers

I am content with Modded v5.17. I don't see the reason to update it. So you are going retail huh. Is there a major difference? I am going back to v5.17. I do not think I saved my original bios v5.17. I can send you the v5.32 listed on the HP website. Let me know.

Don't mention it. I think 10.5.6 is causing issues even for Mac users. Not just Hackint0sh.
Maybe 10.5.7 will resolve these issues. I do not use firewire either so it really does not affect me but shutdown/sleep, I need to have working.

Cheers

Well with retail, we all dont need any MODs, so everybody use his own BIOS, I can make a generic iso for us... and everything from there is personal

But anyway just few members have issues, and its just because the 10.5.6... here everything works, I dont care much about the firewire but I wanna fix it for you guys... thats why Im trying all of this, good to hear everything I done so far is good, thx for your support dray enjoy hackint0sh

So alphazeta, did you do the install just as icchansan posted in the walk-through? I think I remember seeing you did something different? Can you be specific on what you tried for iAtkos install choices to get it to work?

Many thanks.
I really did the walkthrought + AppleSMBIOS x86 ACPI thing to enable my PS/2 keyboard
Also I had a blank dark screen at first. But pressing power I saw a desktop.

So I shutted down the computer. Restarted and it worked.
If you have problem go see insanelymac.com under the thread NVIDIA.
This is if you want Quartz Engine (QE)

Thanks man. I havn't tried that combo yet(I will).

I have found that I've gotten further with putting my second SATA drive (where OSX will live) on port0. My SATA DVD drive is seen as well- on port1. My other OSes don't seem to care where they are- SATA drive on port3. I've found that if I don't disable power management, I get HPET cpu errors. If I use my HDMI connection, seems like my AHCI doesn't work. So far now I can at least get in through safe mode (-x) on iDeneb and iAtkos. But still can't boot normally. I boot verbose and get almost all the way through without seeing any errors and it just stops. Frustrated. I'm going to try iPC in a bit.

I have a HP m8430f. Trying to install iATKOS 5i. I made the changes in the bios as suggested. I didn't mod the bios. When booting from the DVD I use the cpus=1 command. I made all the suggested settings in the the custom setup. Goes through install ok. When the system reboots, it flashes the HDD light once and the screen goes black. I'm using the HDMI output of the video card. Any suggestions on whats going wrong?

I just installed iPC 10.5.6 and it is beautiful. Absolutely every thing works. I had to install my Nvidia graphics per Drey's instructions, but everything else is working with audio, network, ci/qe (1920x1200). Very nice. On to my HP mini now. Thanks everyone for the help.
