hi i have the hp pavilion elite m9040n, which are similar to the specs that are needed for installation

I changed the cpu from the Q6600 to the pentuim dual core E5200

Should the hacktintosh install still work correctly?

I'm asking before i try to install, because i dont have that computer back yet.


Also, can i do the bios update on xp instead of vista? Because i took off vista, and put xp on there.

Yes you can, you have one of the compatible mobos to hax the computer, just follow the guide and you'll be ok.

Dray your computer seems like need a personal mod, or something... or just try Retail man @.@ try to ask to Macnut for a MOD or go for DSDT Patch... T.T

The bios mod was made for Genral use, I can have a second look at it though.
I don't turn off my Hach, so I'm not bothered by it.

If everyone's HP is now having issues shutting down and restart I'll have a look at it again.

I'm not positive if the sleep issue is due to the Bios Mod but now my shutdown stopped working and it was working fine up until yesterday. Restart works fine. At one point they all worked fine. If you can find something, it would be greatly appreciated.

I'll have another look at it, could be something simple I missed in the DSDT.
Have you tried the Shutdown fix .mpk?
