@nitrogenx:
Windows 7 brings a ton of usability updates to the system, along with more efficiency. The downfall of Windows is simply the fact that it's still built on an archaic platform, though there's already plans to develop a new OS from the ground up, kinda like OS X when it was first released. But I'm tired of OS X. The usability of the system is futile, mostly due to lack of decent UI development standards. But I'm not gonna get into that. ![]() I've used Macs alongside PCs for the past 15 years, and I prefer PCs moreso, as they're more usable (usability, intuitive, etc). They're also extremely configurable. I can tweak the core of the OS in more desired ways than I've ever been able to on the Mac. But in saying this, realize that I prefer PCs only because I can't choose something that doesn't exist yet (Midori). I still think all OSs are junk today, though linux is improving. What disheartens me most is that Apple's new releases of OS X never fix the core issues that bug me most. Seems like most of the "new" features are just gimmicks. That's why I commend Microsoft for what they've done with Windows 7. So the truth is opposite to what you've said. Windows 7 is going to be the most useful Microsoft OS yet. As soon as I get my grubby hands on it, I'll be installing it. In the mean time, I gotta figure out how to get OSuX on my m9250f while using the 4 drives that are configured in a RAID-0 array. My MacBook HDD just died this morning (4th death in 4 years, 0 PC HDD Deaths in that same period of time, despite equal use of both system). In any case, I gotta develop some iPhone apps!

Try this just to test, insert the DVD but without trying to boot into the dvd, just leave it there.
Something is wrong with your bootloader, try that. Remember to format as Extended jornaled, and set your partition as MBR. P.S. Here, some info about the same issue. If anything of this work, try installing another distro or in another HDD

Yes, I did install the post installation kexts. Are there any I need to remove that may help with the sleep issue? My keyboard has special functions I would like to utilize in Vista so I would like to keep using it. I was trying to save 16 bucks by not buying a ps2 to usb adapter. Not a big deal. cheers

However, it freezes at the gray startup screen. And when I type in cpus=1 it loads the gray startup screen and the circle thing spins. However nothing ever loads. Do you have any suggestions? |
