Default RE: 10.5.6 Update notes on my 8430f

Second try, anyone have any guesses on why System Profiler now shows "There was an error while gathering this information."

PS: I know the firewire boot isn't supported by the HP bios. I want to point the USB boot loader at the firewire drive. Anyone know of any links on how to do this? It is easy with Grub or Lilo on Linux for instance. This Chameleon/EFI emulation stuff has me stumped.

Cheers,

BHTm

I believe you need APPLESMBIOS, try asking this on IRC, irc.osx86.hu, then ask for some1 with 10.5.6 smbios or maybe is something else, good luck, post back if you have any progress

Eventually I hope I'll understand all the Chameleon documentation I can scour on the net, and I'll post back if I figure out how to boot from a USB stick and use a Firewire external hard disk as the root.

BTW, for the System Profile information, SMBIOEnabler.kext did the trick. My System Profiler now shows my hardware settings hacked HP/AMI bios and all:

Do you have a HP Pavilion Elite? What command did you follow? And what are you trying to do? Boot into Leopard or Dual Boot?
