Can I run the apple update? At somepoint Itunes tried updating and it went into system update but 80% through the search for updates it froze on me. I wasn't sure if it is possible to run the apple system update. In one of your posts you mentioned that in order to run system update you have to install a retail version of macosx. If I get a retail disk do I need to follow any special guide similar to yours to make it work...and when it does run can I use it like a normal mac with updates and all?

You can update everything but the OS, to update the OS read the post #62, in the page 7~ in this thread, Its really easy, this is like a manual update, to install retail you have to follow this guide ;P

Everything working smooth as ever....have iLife08/Garagband/FinalCut/Logic Studio/iWorks08 all working fantastic on the machine =) I am so stoked to have a mac computer finally on my m9250f. Duel boots to vista x64. One thing I notice that is wrong at the moment...when I click "about this mac" it shows my processor/memory/ and HD fine...than I click "more info" and I can see my stuff under each specific category, yet under "Hardware" tab it used to show everything like processors and what not, now it just says "There was an error while gathering this information." The performance of machine is great, it just bugs me that it used to show the info under "Hardware" tab and now it doesn't =P

OK..I kinda messed up lol and not sure who to turn to but Icchansan =) for some reason I was trying to update my video card driver with NVINJECT 0.2.2 512mb kext and when I restarted I now recieve a black screen. Now I am unsure how to undo the kext or fix the situation. Hopefully you'll be around tomorrow or I'll find a way trolling the internet.

You Install macdrive (google it) to delete the next kext, and install the new one via Windows, then boot using -v -f and repair permissions

Hi I try to update to 10.5.5 but I try two times and it doesn't work. I follow the instruction on page 7. I wonder if I missed something.

It hangs when it boots. It hangs after the message mac framework... something like.

The procedure on page 7 of this thread says that I should take backup of the .kext. I wonder what's the use or how I should use it. Should I, after the update put back the .kext right after the installation is over, I mean when the update program asking me to reboot. Of course I did do the hack about the apple management and modify the files replacing the line don't steal mac os x.kext.

Wonder what I did wrong. I do use vanilla kernel.
