Hi,

I'm trying to install leopard on my pc with the Brazilmac disc and i'm having some trouble. I get to the GUI and select the language as English and then it tries to prepare for installation.

1) Then I get to the Welcome screen and i click on continue.
2) I select my hard drive as the destination but there's a red exclamation saying that i cannot install MAC OS X on this volume. So i erase the v olume and format as MAC OS Extended (Case-sensitive, Journaled)
After that I can continue with the installation.
3) Now in the installation process there's a "Checking Installation DVD" popup.
After it checks the DVD, i get an Install Failed Screen.

It says:
Install Failed
MAC OSX could not be installed on your computer

The Installer could not locate the data it needed to install the software. Check your install media or internet connection and try again or contact the software manufacturer for assistance. Click Restart to restart your computer and try installing again.

I tried again and the same error occured. Does anyone know why?

what is the mac you are trying to upgrade? and is the DVD legit?
How many other laptops did you use it in?

When you get to the summary screen of the installer, be sure to click "Customize" and deselect all the packages except the main system.

guyz even i have the same problem to the guy posted above , I have sata 160gb hdd , and intel 946gzs . and i have formatted into 4 drives , c,d,e,,g and i insatllied leopard in G drive which is 12gb and of fat32 which was converted into MAC OS Extended , not MAC OS Extended (Case-sensitive, Journaled).......

after that it was showing 24 min left that time , i got messeg saying cant install and please conatct software cendor ... ca nany body please help me wat to do inoredr to get rid of this ... i using brazilian patched dvd ....... evenything worked me fine upto this stage .... do i need to change any setting in bios ????????? plz let me know earliest and make this forum alive and success

do i need to install freshly leopard by formatting my 160 hdd ????? i mena insatlling in c: drive (mrb) ????????????? , presently i tried installing in g:drive which had 13gb ... any suggestions appreciated

hey to the person posted this topic , dude , i got it installed , when it asks for which partion u need to insta;ll then go to disk utilites there format ur drive then intsll in that drive .. it will definite works , but i am struck in post patching , as it saying there is no file exists in cd volume comman in terminal whien is type ..... so any body help me in this ..... i used brazilian patched dvd ( hell lot of thanks to thet torrent guy ) its not detetcing the pend drive , i mean its not taking the command , but it do shows the pen drive and its in fat32 fprmat and it 2gb and it has zipped patch files and i even named it as patcher ........
