Groklaw's Pamela Jones wrote in February 2005: "I stopped in at LinuxWorld just for a quick look around today..."
See Groklaw - LinuxWorld Here is the full quote: "I stopped in at LinuxWorld just for a quick look around today, kind of unexpectedly, actually, and I learned some interesting things. First, I met Bill Claybrook, which was certainly an honor. I learned he works for Novell now..." Later, in July 2005 PJ wrote again: "When I attended LinuxWorld in Boston, I met Russell Dyer in the press room. He was there for Unix Review, I believe. He was sitting right across the table from me, the table where all the journalists had their laptops hooked up...". See Groklaw - Russell Dyer's "MySQL in a Nutshell", Reviewed by Steve McInerney Thanks to Maureen O'Gara, we know this: "Only one person in the world has ever claimed to have met her - in the pressroom at LinuxWorld in Boston complete with a Pamela Jones badge - and described her as a fortyish reddish-blonde who giggled a lot." See Who Is 'PJ' Pamela Jones of Groklaw.Net? Who was this "fortyish reddish-blonde" that pretended to be Groklaw's Pamela Jones at LinuxWorld? What about Eric Raymond's wife: http://skylinecowboy.com/uploaded/20...7837esr5FD.jpg Now, how visible was PJ to LinuxWorld attendees? Not much according to PJ: ********** What kind of badge was worn? Anyone ever see any laptop made with ECC RAM, RAID 1 and LINUX? by PJ February 17 2005 I did request that I be allowed to be an anonymous as possible, so my badge was not at all obvious who I was. I also kept it turned except when I needed it for entry. 04:23 AM EST ********** So who knew PJ was at LinuxWorld? Well, according also to PJ just Bill Claybrook. Why did PJ bother to tell everyone through her blog that she went to LinuxWorld? PJ probably already knew Maureen O'Gara was trying to find her. The LinuxWorld stunt was maybe an attempt to get O'Gara off her back. O'Gara published her note on the "61-year-old Jehovah's Witness" two months later. Hence, here are the Top 4 reasons for Pamela Jones to hide her identity 1. MedAbiliti/Exemplar Intl/Examinetics 2. FSF/OSDL/IBM 3. Her preference for Mac OS X (as sold by Apple, of course!) 4. Religion It appears as if Pamela Jones avoided a 2007 subpoena mainly because she would have been unable to answer many questions. As it's believed she received help from FSF to write many articles in 2004, 2005, 2006, it would have been an embarrasment for her to show up in court. It would have been the end of Groklaw not because of a gag order, but because of PJ's inability to respond to questions. Coming soon: Groklaw's Pamela Jones and her preference for Mac OS X. |

Al Petrofsky has made it easy to establish a link between Groklaw's PJ and MedAbiliti's Pamela Jones.
