I created a custom sms (6sec) using wavepad. Did the conversion to aif and in vista I unchecked the hide known files. I then changed the sms file to sms-recieved2.caf and copied it to uisounds. I did this with winscp and later with iphone browser.

I deleted the original "chime" sms-recieved2.caf file.

When I preview my custom sms tone in iphone browser it plays fine.

I exit and unplug my iphone 3g from the usb port.

I then go into the settings menu on the iphone and select sounds and choose sms, select "chime" and there is no sound!

Is there something I am missing or not doing properly?

Please help.

I have updated to 3.0 os and have the 3.0 jailbreak installed!
