Default iPhone 3G to be replaced by Palm Pre?

On in/around June 6th, Palm will introduce their latest phone "Pre". It looks like the iPhone 3G but smaller and better screen resolutions and it comes with a QWERTY keypad.

It deems to be faster, better across the board. Check it out on the Palm website.

WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK? Can/Will it be an iPhone killer?

Looking forward to comments...

I hope the Palm Pre won't be the fail I think it will be.
The keyboard will make it to big, it has been over hyped and people will expect to much.
Palm can't afford to launch it worldwide so it needs to be a success in the USA for them to roll it out to ROW.
I hope I am proved wrong but I believe we will never see it this side of the Pacific and it will prove to be Palm's swan song.

The Palm pre isnt meant to have the capabilities that the iPhone has so if the iPhone is replaced ill be surprised.

I held my first Pre in my hands yesterday. It's a pretty nice gizmo, that one!
However, I would not change it for my iPhone 3GS 32.
That keyboard is too small to be a help in writing text. Once you're used to the iPhone landscape keyboard, this definitly turns out the better solution.
Display's smaller, and it won't fit into my pockets so slick and slender like the iPhone. And of course 32 GB is a lot of stuff to be loaded on the "i".
So, up to me, the Pre will be no threat to the iPhone.

Apple has a killer marketing team that, as of yet, is unmatched anywhere else in the tech world. It really doesn't matter so much if the Pre is functionally 'better' than the iPhone, the pre doesn't have an Apple logo and that's why it will never be as big as the iPhone.

Still, Apple is really moving forward with the iPhone. The 3GS easily bests the Pre in its current form, and by the time palm catches up, Apple will have something else out.

Competition is great, though. It's the reason why the 3GS is so awesome no doubt.
