I have searched all over the web for 2 days now and I'm still no further. I got a 2g Iphone that was unlocked and jailbroken but the software was on the fritz and the phone would only charge with the car charger not the wall charger. So I decided to do a master reset and hopefully clear out and get the Iphone back to stock. I have ATT. After a very long reset the phone only boots up to the apple logo. Won't go any further. Sometimes after a minute it shuts off and comes back on to the apple logo, but never boots. It seems the phone does not recognize the USB cable attached to it. I don't have the original docking station. I tried all the tricks to put it in restore mode with no luck. Hold the power button for 5 seconds then power and home button for 10 seconds then keep holding the home button and release the power button until itunes recognizes the phone. No luck. I only have the newest 8.1 version of itunes. Could that be part of the problem? Do I need to get a retro version of 7.5? Is there software I can download or pay for that will make the phone's port recognize the data cable again? Any help would be great. Thanks
