I have a jailbroken and unlocked 2g Iphone previously running smoothly on 1.1.4. I used Pwnage Tool to upgrade the firmware to 2.1. It worked, but I didn't like 2.1, so I tried to downgrade back to 1.1.4. I read that to do that I had to downgrade to 2.0 first. So I did, but then my phone locked because the SIM card I used wasn't supported.

I can't seem to get it unlocked or downgraded. I used Pwnage Tool to create a custom 2.0 firmware and tried to restore my phone through ITunes, but I keep getting either errors 6, 20, 1601 or 1604.

I've tried restoring it in DFU Mode, Recovery Mode and Normal mode but I still keep getting errors from ITunes. I've changed USB cable and ports, used both Windows Vista and Mac Leopard, upgraded and downgraded my Itunes from 7.5, 7.7 and 8.0 and back and forth, tried Pwnage 2.0 and 1.1, Winpwn, Quickpwn and Ziphone 3.0 but nothing works.

I tried in on Winpwn and Pwnage 1.1 but whenever they ask my to put my phone on recovery mode I do, but the program wouldn't read my phone, only Itunes. In Ziphone I get USBMuxListenerCreate: Permission denied.

Right now, whenever I've tried restoring my phone again on recovery mode using a custom 2.0 firmware. But error 6 pops up, I put it in DFU and error 1601 pops up. And yes I know, DFU mode = black screen and recovery = Itunes + USB

Can anyone help me? I don't need it downgraded to 1.1.4 at the moment, I just want to know how I can make my phone work again. Thanks.

Found a solution. Downloaded 2.1 firmware and upgraded to Itunes 8.0. Managed to restore phone to 2.1. But now it's locked. Is there anyway to downgrade and unlock my Iphone in 1.1.4? thanks

If your phone is now at 2.1, just use QuickPwn. It will take care of it for you (jailbreak + unlock).
Don't bother going back to 1.1.4
