Firstly I used to have an iPhone 2g and lost it (yes I should be shot), have been without my baby for around a month and I just cannot survive anymore.

Question I have is that I want to buy one, the 2g I can only get second hand from ebay, and they are about £200 and I won't know how they have been looked after and off course no warranty, I am kinda of scared as I lost my first one which I paid full whack from the Apple Store.

Second option is O2 are releasing the 3g on pay as you go for £349 or £399 (8,16GB) next week. Firstly I need it on Vodafone and as far as I have read there no software unlock.

1 - So I wanted to know can I use these SIM unlock solutions (http://any-network.com/, Any-Network, Turbo SIM, Rebel SIM), is it legal?

2 - Can I pop my O2 pay as you go back in and thus my warranty is still intact?

3 - Is there any risk, will these unlock solution work with any firmware, I hear 2.1 is out friday

Sort off, it should go under iPhone 3G hardware unlock, only an asshat would hardware unlock a 2G these days. The 3G hardware unlocks dont seem very reliable, I would maybe try to get the number moved across to O2, or wait for an unlock, or get a 2G and pwn it.

There is no 3g hardware unlock section, or I am blind.

I cannot change carrier, work thing. And I don't want a contract. Considering the pay as you go on O2 suppose to come out on Tuesday.
