For those people who attempted the H/W downgrade of their 1.1.2FW/4.6BL iPhones, and who for one reason or another, ended up with an iPhone that lost it's baseband entirely, as well as having lost it's WiFi, IMEI, etc., I am pleased to announce it is possible to restore it to all of its previous glory, and then some!!

I now have an iPhone with:
firmware: DEV ICE MODEM 03.14.08 G
eep version: EEP VERSION:207
eeprevision: EEPREVISION:7
bootloader: BOOTLOADER VERSION:3.9 M3S2

this iPhone was a OTB 1.1.2 week 45 with BL 4.6.

During the process of H/W unlocking it, specifically during the software portion of the process, at ./iunew to be specific, the iPhone stopped working, and upon rebooting it, it went ot the grey apple logo screen, and was unable to be freed from that, thus requiring a RESTORE. However, a restore was very difficult, and after many attempts, I was only ever able to get it to restore to 1.1.1, which served no good purpose, because it was without a baseband, hence it was without the ability to use the alphanumeric keys and call button to perform a *#307#-call jailbreakme.com unlock. I then tried to restore it to firmware 1.0.2, but had no success, and from that point forward had no success restoring to any firmware version. I did not try to restore to 1.1.3(but in moments of desperation i considered it a few times).

I will start a new thread, and will explain the process. I tried so many things, one after the other, and in combination with one another, over the past 3 days(little sleep), that I should start a new thread, calling on those who have the same problem, and hopefully being able to serve up the same solution for them, so everyone can get their device modem firmware back on their iPhone, as well as getting their 4.6BL down to 3.9, as was originally the intention when we all set out to crack open our phones and scrape their circuitry

yes, it IS possible!! easy? no. possible? yes! I just finally got mine working again, after a few days of struggling. I will make a new forum topic concentrating on this specific issue, outlining what worked for me/my OTB 1.1.2 4.6BL iPhone.

Default Please Sombody help PLease begging you.?

Hi to all members of this forum.

My iphone 1.1.2 OTB BL 4.6

im so confused about something nobody had talk about..

Allright now we had this hardware method, and i thought to take that risk,

and i took it so i followed the easy way of i.unlock.no

installed necessary files and i open my iphone perfectly without any demage.

and i unloaded the system as it says to run.

i typed #ienew

and i got the done message: Hopefully the main flash was erased, wait for the next step...

so till now was very good, now is a hard work of testpoint.

i typed sleep 20; iunew

and i try to make the testpoint i tryed for 6 times and i still got the please connect the

tespoint

and when i tried for the last time my phone for my bad luck was blocked i waited for 1 hour and

still nothing, then i try to restart even that i knew that i will lose everything imei iccid wi-fi

and everything, so i had to restore it again with appsnapp becuase restoring to oreginaly 1.1.2

with itunes was impossible, becuase of errors so i restore it with 1.02 with appsnapp and i

installed a subsystem and mobileterminal and i downloaded files on

http://iphonejtag.blogspot.com/2008/...-unlocked.html

i was stuck to that nor file to make it by me becuase that part was unknown for me, but i found it

in your forum so i download and i put it with ibrickr to the cd /ur/bin and all other files i puted

in that folder. (which i dont know if am correct by that)

Now i unloaded again the system by typing launchctl etc etc..
i typed cd /usr/bin/
and i typed
chmod +x

chmod +x ienew
chmod +x iunew
chmod +x secpack
chmod +x nor

now when i try to erase the flash it stuck waiting for data?

i leave it for 20 minutes and nothing so i tried again and again and nothing.

So know i wanna now what we are going to do that we have brake our iphones, can we try again to

make this hardware method to work , or that was only once time??????

and you had told that we should wait and never restore it to 1.1.3 to fix the iphone??
Why, is there any chance for us i wanna know please please???
And again please if there is a chance of trying this HW method please just tell me know what to do

to make that happen, cuz i do all the stuff but why my phone is stuck waiting for data? when i type

ienew ???? please im so in love with iphone so im very upset without reaching to fix it, im spendin

to much time trying to make that fucking bootloader 3.9 installed in my system. but if HW was only

for once try tell me , and if it was only for once time what we are going to do or what chances we

will have to make iphone work ????
Please im Begging you....
Sorry if my english was not so well.

Best Regards

Hi,

After a 2 days hard work, finally I recovered my phone. The phone is originally on Wifi, on bluetooth, on IMEI.... when bbupdate -v, it gives cannot connect to CommCenter error. It is done because I accidentally installed Baseband downgrader from installer. I originally only want to get the firmware and eeprom files for me, but it call ieraser for me, and so it erased my firmware.

Then I downloaded the phone to 1.0.2 and install terminal, bsd base and uictl, following this link:

http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=24122

then updoad otb112.rar files and nor to the iphone, hoping that ienew works.

Already unload CommCenter, but in the first several try, ienew gives "Write Error". and at that time I think my phone is totally bricked.

Suddenly I remembered that before I called ienew, the phone give "Repair Need" error.

Then I restart the phone, quickly disable CommCenter using UICtl, then open terminal and run ienew. Still give "Write Error", oh..., never give up, run ienew again..... after fifth trials, sudden ienew works and start to erase the phone again.

Then I called iunew and trigger the test point without problem.
bbupdater now works.
And I called bbupdater -e ICE03.14.08_G.eep -f ICE03.14.08_G.fls
to reflash the baseband. My phone is now fully functionally again.

So I just want to say, if you can "Write Error" in ienew, don't give up and try several more times.

Just finished mine here... Though opening the outter covers were an excrutiating task, I was able to do it with some minor scratches.

Other than that, everyting went perfectly! (Though i had to try the tespoint about 9 times before i finally got it ).

Just one thing, never restart the phone during the process, just keep trying the testpoint and you'll make it. Remember you can always go to ifixit and get the new covers..

Really hard... if you haven't scratched or damaged it, check the edge that attaches below the silver cover, mine kept getting squished between the two covers and it took me awhile to realise it...
