Hi Guys,

I am having iphone 2g. One day back i upgraded its software from 1.1.4 to 3.1.2. The old basebad was 4.4. The problem i am facing is that the software is upgraded but now i am getting the error insert valid sim card to activate the phone. The old software was jailbroken and unlocked but now i am unable to unlock it. Can anyone help me pls.........

You likely do not have an unlock problem but an activation one.

My recommended path.

Jailbreak with blackra1n
Restore a custom ipsw made using pwnagetool 3.1.4 using iTunes.

The first step should get you an activated iPhone that you can make/recieve calls with. Then the second step should fix Location Services, YouTube and allow tools like DiskAid and iPhone Browser to work.

Thanx bro but for first jailbraiking it i have to go in the main menu but i am not able to go in there instead i am getting error ie.... NO SIM CARD INSTALLED(INSERT A VALID SIMWITH NO PIN LOCK TO ACTIVATE IPHONE) WHAT TO DO IN THAT CASE????

Blackra1n does not need any interaction with iTunes to jailbreak. In fact it works best if you connect the iPhone, wait for iTunes to start, shut iTunes down and then use task manager/activity monitor to search for iTunes helper and shut that down too.

Then run blackra1n RC3, it will detect your iPhone and jailbreak it, as part of jailbreaking it will hacktivate it (thus bypassing the iTunes error you have now)

You only need the boot neuter step if after jailbreak your still can't get network coverage and make/receive calls.

Please take a good look around the forums. There are solutions to nearly everything you want to enable on a 2G iPhone running 3.1.2 (including tethering, stereo bluetooth and MMS)

hey bro i have used the creating custom carrier bundle. I m getting the option of apn but i am not able to use it. My gprs service is active. And have tried on 3 different networks. Nt working.
