Default question about the acutal 1.0.2 firmware file download

i messed up unlocking my phone. i want to restore back to the 1.0.2 that my iphone came with. i never upgraded to 1.1.1 but my iphone still got sort of messed up. i downloaded the firmware file numerous times and i get a folder on my desktop called iphone1,1_1. this is the same file most sites proclaim as the 1.0.2 firmware download. when i go to itunes and hold option while i click restore i am prompted to select a file. i cannot choose that folder. it is shown as an item but i takes me to a subdivision of that folder. there is a folder titled "firmware" but the items in there dont work. i just get sent back to the main itunes screen where i can click resotre or update. i downloaded on a PC and a MAC and i got the same results both times.

i really want to find out what im doing wrong here. im sure its something basic im overlooking but i cant quite figure it out. can anybody give me a total walthrough because i just cant figure out what im doing wrong. ive followed the directions for every guide to restore to to 1.0.2. but i cant get anywhere.

there is the link to the 1.0.2 firmware file ive been downloading.

the folder you are getting should be a .ipsw file not a folder your unzip software is most likelly unziping it automatically. what unziper do you use winrar?? try uninstalling that unziper program and downloading again when it stays as a file not folder it will work. Or otherwise just keep trying other computers one of them will work. the link you put up is fine i tested it.

good luck

I get a file on my desktop iPhone1,1_1.0.2_1C28_Restore.ipsw

itunes makes it look like a lego brick
