hi...

i unlocked my phone a week ago using the method in the original post in this thread. i have an at&t "blue" sim with an unlimited mmode plan. i had NO issues during the procedure. when finished, my phone was unlocked and working with my at&t "blue" sim but both EDGE and WiFi were not. *note* WiFi did/does find my network, gets an IP and connects, it just doesn't work on safari, youtube, weather, etc. without an eventual "can't find server error". also, i have friends who have picked up my home network and connected to it without any problem so i know it's not that. after MUCH research, i edited my preferences.plist per post #22 of this thread - still nothing. i then uploaded a proxy.pac file and did the additional edits in post #45 of the same thread - still nothing. after MUCH more research, i saw a post somewhere about how someones EDGE only worked when their WiFi was off. i turned off WiFi and sure enough, EDGE worked with ALL applications! fyi - the additional edit and proxy.pac from post #45 WERE NOT needed for EDGE, just the edit in post #22 and turning off WiFi. i've spent days now trying to figure out how to get the WiFi working, i've even restored and started again. i've done hundreds of searches. i've found a few similar questions posted but they never seem to get answered.
to recap...
- i DO have EDGE working with ALL web services. WiFi MUST be in the OFF position.
- if WiFi is turned on, it finds network, gets an IP and connects but NO services work besides the phone.
does ANYONE out there have this problem? has ANYONE figured out how to fix it?? thanks in advance... my head is starting to hurt from banging it agains the wall, LOL
