Upgrade path for 1.1.2 OTB iPhone to 2.2.1
Hey guys! I am a happy owner of a unlocked/jailbroken iPhone running on 1.1.2 firmware. This was one of the first phones that had the 4.6bl and at the time I purchased it there was no software unlock so I was forced to buy a sim chip in order to unlock it. Well times have changed as you all know and I just recently realized how many releases behind I am. I would like to upgrade to the latest firmware to take advantage of the new cool apps from Cyndia, but I don't even know where to start, because there are so many different methods out there.
What is the easiest way for me to get from 1.1.2 OTB unlocked with a sim chip to 2.2.1 (or whatever the latest release is)? All your help is greatly appreciated and I apologize if this has already been discussed here - I just haven't had the chance to find the answer yet

Upgrade/restore to 2.2.1 and then QuickPwn. As simple as that

Thanks, duck9000! Just one more thing I would like to clarify - at which point do I remove the sim chip and what is the difference between 3.9bl and 4.6bl? Which one should I pick?

Can I do the same for my 1.0.2 OTB firmware which I unlocked using the i.unlock.no method?
Just upgrade to 2.2.1 and then follow the tutorial?! thanks

I may need it- I've put off upgrading for SO long I'm afraid to go near my working iphone- however after it fell into a toilet before christmas and didnt work for over a month but made a mirculous recovery I think it at least deserves an upgrade lol
I won't attempt it till the weekend I'd say but hopefully it all goes to plan
