I'm trying to sort out an O2 (UK) iPhone for a friend with an Orange sim. As far as I know it came with fw 1.1.2 and it was then unlocked and all that working fine (by methods unknown to me) until he upgraded to 1.1.4 via iTunes.
Now, no matter what I do it always ends up with 'No Service' so none of the phone functions work, although everything else does once it's activated. I've trawled through loads of message board posts and guides and it seems like there are a few with similar problems where in the end the phone function just isn't working. I've tried pretty much everything including Ziphone 3.0, iPlus 2.0b, iLiberty+ and finally winpwn 0.99.2.19 - after each try restoring back to 1.1.4 in iTunes. I've tried downgrading to an earlier firmware but iTunes stops with an error. I managed to get 1.1.3 on there at one point somehow but again with the 'No Service'. I've been messing around for hours on it to no avail. Any suggestions would be appreciated! I've currently got a custom 1.1.4 loaded via winpwn with stuff like bb info and bootneuter on there. If it helps here's some of the info shown: Model: iPhone1,1 Model Number: MB213B/A Modem Firmware: 03.14.08_G EEPROM Version: 207 EEPROM Version: 7 Bootloader Version: 3.9_M3S2 edit: Sorry, noobie mistake. Also.. it seems it's just a 0049 bad imei issue. Who'd've thought reading stickies would actually help?

I would guess it was unlocked with an old Anysim version at 1.0.2, then it has to be virginized. After that you could restore to Firmware 1.1.4, then unlock it. volkspost

Version 1.1.4(4A102) Serial 7U7422 Modem Firmware 04.04.05_G The downgrade error was actually just the 1013, 1015 error it spits out in iTunes. I now know the phone actually can downgrade successfully. |

The o2-UK iPhones came - as far as I remember - with 1.1.2 and Bootloader 4.6 plus matching Firmware. Are you sure it was an o2-UK-iPhone? It it had been 1.0.2 (so not beeing a o2-UK-iPhone) downgrading to 1.0.2 and virginizing could have helped... volkspost
