Default [1.1.4 OTB] No service - No signal after activation

Hi everyone,
I got a problem with a 8GB 1.1.4 4.6 iPhone.
Personaly I haven't made anithing, a friend of mine do de pesky job ...
With ZiPhone 2.6 on win XP he first made the downgrade of the baseband and then "Do it All".
The phone seems ok, but there is "No Service". Sometimes the carrier name apear (Vodafone IT) but with no signal at all and no possibility to make or receive calls.
Now I tired everithing to reset and put back the iPhone to initial condition, just to see if something went wrong with the activation process and made it again by myself, but I can't restore the 4.6 BL in no way ... it allwais stay on 3.9. I tired the iphone-tools 2 or 3 times on a pc, but with no luck. I reloaded the 1.1.4 firmware 5 or 6 times, used iPlus 2.0 3 or 4 times, and Ziphone 2.6 the rest, but nothing changes. BBInfo see all the data of the sim, and all seems ok apart that I got an full functional "iPhone Touch". The phone part doesn't work with the No Service written.
I read in the general faq that:

cite

----
So, there are a couple of ways you can do this.

You can use Ziphone, iPlus, or iLiberty.

The difference is this:
----
Ziphone: requires you to downgrade your BL to 3.9

Good: There is a greater chance of having an unlock for future versions
Bad: You can't upgrade back to 4.6 without opening your iPhone. Also, using Ziphone you are REQUIRED to downgrade to 3.9BL
----

But I ask you again ... there is realy no way to put the phone in initial conditons with BL 4.6, apart to wait the new fw release?
I prefere to think that there is a sw problem more than a hw one, but before I open the phone to see inside it and try to made the hw BL flash, I like to made all the passages to ensure that this is not a sw related problem.
My friend think that this is a antenna related problem becouse the signal come and go, and he made one call (a single one to himself to the fix number, with no answer) and received a SMS.
I'm working with mac and prefer to operate from there, but if there is some utility only for pc I can use it too.

P. S.: Is not true that you are REQUIRED to downgrade the BL to 3.9 ... in the sametime of this problem another person activate another 8GB 1.1.4 4.6 iPhone with ZiPhone 2.6 (on Mac) without downgrading the bootloader, but just "Do it All".

TIA

How sure are you that the BL is now 3.9?

Have you tried erasing the baseband and restoring to get a new BB and then use iplus?

If you used ZiPhone to downgrade the Bootloader, then you CAN NOT upgrade back any other way than with HW method. I would use iLiberty to erase and reflash the baseband, then do your unlock again with iPlus.

Try this:

1) Erase Baseband.
2) Put phone in DFU mode.
3) Restore to 1.1.4.
4) Use iplus to A/J/U

Lot of tools can erase the baseband.

ziphone will do it.I think the command is ziphone -e

eziphone and eziphonetools will also do it.

Search and use the tool of your choice.

... it seems that the only way is the hw one ... where can I find a good guide for testpoint? I think that this is the method to go back to 4.6 BL ...

FollowUp ...

In fact the iPhone is working. Today I made a call with it, but the signal coming in is too low to be usable. Just sitting in front of a GSM cell can make it work ...

Any clue?
