Default [1.0.2] Unlocked - how to install AppTapp Installer?

This should be soooo easy but I just can't work out what I'm doing wrong. I've got an iPhone that I unlocked using anySim which is on firmware 1.0.2. I now want to revirginize, update using iTunes to 1.1.4 and then use iPlus to jailbreak and unlock etc.

My problem is that I deleted AppTapp Installer from the iPhone's Springboard ages ago and now I can't install it again. I need to install it to run the Revirginize util. When I run the AppTappInstaller.exe on my PC it gets to Stage 2: 4 then then hangs - and the iPhone has a yellow triangle saying Connect to iTunes. It hungs for about 20 mins so I disconnected it, and managed to get rid of the yellow warning triangle by running iphoneinterface.exe. I also tried to install the Installer from iBrickr - it appeared to install it but then the Installer failed to appear on the springboard.

So, what am I doing wrong? How can I install AppTapp Installer to then install the Revirginizer? Or is there anothr way to Revirginize? I read somewhere that AppTapp is thwarted by iTunes 7.6 (I'm running iTunes 7.6.1.9) - could this be an issue?

What's uber-frustrating is that I revirginized, updated then used iPlus to jailbreak and unlock an identical iPhone this morning in about 20 mins - but this is my wife's phone so I deleted the AppTapp Installer for her

Cheers
Simon

Not sure if this will help but you could try running iphone-tools to erase and reflash your baseband, then try update and restore in itunes. Like I say, I don't know if this will work, but it's worth a try.

why dont you ssh/sftp into the phone and just copy the Installer to the springboard.
Its so long ago now but maybe if you go to jailbreakme.com (with the iphone) and follow the tutorial on Iclarified. could do the trick.

Thanks guys. I think I'll try the ssh.stfp approach first.

Zincozinco - can you point me in the right direction of the ssh.stfp tutorial on iClarified please? I've searched and can't find it. Its so long ago that I did all this before I can't remember the process.

Cheers
Simon

if memory serves ...
open safari and go to www.apptapp.com/installer
It will install automatically for you.

Try searching the forum. I know it was something similar to that ...

use the latest iBrickR and install the older version through that. then on your phone you can update it to the latest one.
I couldn't get that version to work, so i googled the oldest version and uploaded it through ibrickR. worked fine.

Just use iLiberty, it's very easy, just highlight add installer and hit go for it, that's it.

Default Facing same issue with AppTapp Installer

Hi Simon,

I am facing same issue that you faced. So not sure if you could resolve it by using SSH or any other solution. If yes, please share the solution with me or suggest how to address it.

thanks in advance.

Regards,
Yogesh
