This is my notes on an OTB 1.1.3 16 GB iphone using ziphone -a -j -u. I will continue to update information as I move along. - Brand new 16 GB iphone with BL 4.6 and Baseband 04.03.13_G - Windows XP Pro - iTunes 7.5 - run iTunes - connect phone via usb cable - iTunes detects phone - Put phone in recovery mode while connected (hold power+home, let go power when apple appears, continue holding home until cable+cd appears, let go home) - iTunes detects phone in recovery mode - click OK and close iTunes - Go to DOS prompt (click start, run, cmd) and change to directory where ziphone.zip is extracted - Type: ziphone -a -j -u ----------------------------------------------------- This is what it looks like when running ziphone -a -j -u (note: this capture was taken when I was using ziphone 1.0 but it is very similar with 2.0, 2.2 and 2.4 - I've used all of them) C:\ziphone>ziphone -a -j -u ZiPhone v1.0 by Zibri. http://zibree.blogspot.com Source code available at: http://www.iphone-elite.org Loading zibri.dat. augi.ow,
For the explanation of difference you can consult "[Tutorial] Difference between DFU Mode and Restore Mode" @ http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=27348 this is from the first post in this thread: Quote:

augi,
that's the whole idea behind using two different versions of ziphone. someone in this forum posted that ziphone 2.5's do it all (-a -j -u) WILL downgrade your BL automatically to 3.9 and I don't want it. that is why we are using two different versions and splitting "-a -j task" and "-u task". I and the source I trust upon may be wrong, so maybe you don't need to split it. I can't confirm if 2.5 works this way or the other way when you use "-a -j -u" on it. I did not want to risk my precious and only iPhone just to test it. so I did this way and it worked and I am just sharing my experience. so maybe you can easily do it with 2.5. I don't know, try if you want to... good luck. |

Hi,
I confirm that the first post in this thread by themrwho work exactly as descripted on my OTB 1.1.3 ( I did not upgrade to 1.1.4) Now I got iPhone 1.1.3 FW, BL 4.6 (checked by BBinfo), BB 04.02.13G (was 4.03 when OTB). So this method will ot downgrade BL, will downgrade BB, FW stay the same. I am not sure will runing jailbreak & activivation by 2.3 Ziphone , then run unlock with Ziphone will give the same result or not. I tried another Ziphone 2.5 ( not the 2.5c) on another 1.1.3 OTB iphone, the BL downgraded to 3.9, FW & BB remain unchange (1.1.3 & 4.03 ). So I can say that different version of Ziphone will give different results. The reason for downgrade the BL to 3.9 as someone else suggest that the Google map position location function will not work on BL 4.6 iphone which has been unlocked by Ziphone. |

triple confirm. My phone is a 1.1.3 OTB. I never updgrade my firmware to 1.1.4. But its working beautifully eventhough i haven't install the rest of the stuff. i followed themrwho instructions exactly.
But take note: The first time i used Ziphone 2.5c, my phone crashed, then Itunes said it was damaged. I ran Ziphone again and it worked. When i used Ziphone, my Itunes was off. Thanks for this summary. Last edited by augi.ow; 03-11-2008 at 10:04 AM. |

WARNING: I am trying to help by providing the URL below. I found the ZiPhone2.3.zip using google and created a tinyURL to make it possible to pass the address to you.
BUT looks like this ziphone zip archive size is a few bytes different than the one on my computer. It may be real or fake, SO USE AT YOUR OWN RISK... http://tinyurl.com/3d2mwf . Last edited by themrwho; 03-13-2008 at 07:37 PM. Reason: fixed address (was unreadable because of auto address masking) |
