If you're getting a BUS ERROR trying to run ZiPhone on MacOS X Leopard (INTEL), you can fix it like this:
1. Download MobileDeviceFramework 7.4.2: http://**********.com/files/68410680...ework.zip.html 2. Quit iTunes 3. In terminal, move your existing "MobileDevice.framework" to a backup name: cd /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks sudo mv MobileDevice.framework MobileDevice.framework.bak 4. Uncompress the MobileDevice.framework you downloaded in step one. Rename the folder to just "MobildeDevice.framework". 5. In terminal, move that downloaded 7.4.2 version into the PrivateFrameworks folder (where you just backed up your 7.5/7.6 version): sudo mv MobileDevice.framework /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks 6. That's it. No more BUS ERROR from ZiPhone OS X. To report, under 10.5.1 on a Core2Duo MacBook Pro I have (using a BL3.9 iPhone): - RESTORED to 1.1.3 using iTunes, updating my baseband to latest in the process. - Turn off phone. - HOLD the HOME button on the phone and connect to the dock. This launches iTunes and powers the phone in recovery mode. - From terminal, AFTER above (using MobileDevice 7.4.2): "./ziphone -j -a" - Less than 60 seconds later, iPhone rebooted. - Used Installer to install BSD subsystem and iClarified rep to install anySIM 1.3. - Enable AIRPLANE mode. - Run anySIM 1.3 - unlock 4.03 baseband. - Disable AIRPLANE mode. DONE - phone jailbroken, activated and unlocked on Rogers in Canada, all using OS X intel to do so and no dodgy 'soft update' method. As per GeoHot the Zibree jailbreak, although not developed by Zibree (more like stolen and released in a poorly packaged form) is the 'proper' jailbreak, replacing the fstab with a read/write enabled version. Enjoy. Enjoy |

Thanks so much for the info SimplePanda - would you mind telling me, at what point during your steps did you close iTunes (if at all)?
Thanks again! |

Turn off iPhone. Close iTunes. Hold home button and while doing so connect dock cable. iTunes opens and phone is in recovery mode. Ack all dialogs and then close iTunes. Run ziphobe at this point. Jailbreakedness ensued.

As I have a 3.9 phone I can use anysim or the geohot ipsf unlock to get full 4.03. |
