I've followed the tutorial at unlock.no (three times) and got my phone working, unlocked and everything. However, whenever someone calls me I get "Unknown" as the ID, instead of the number or name. SMSs work fine.
I've installed iWorld, but it had no effect. I've tried the AppSupport solution as well, but nothing. Does anyone have any idea why or what's going on? Thank you. EDIT: I've searched the forum a bunch of times, but didn't find any solutions for my particular problem. Last edited by zyzzy; 02-10-2008 at 06:24 AM. |

This works for me - 1.1.3, 04.03.13G, BL3.9
Go to http://users.skynet.be/ra045246/ download PhoneNumber Dynamic Library build 10 This is the readme instructions Note: no need to rush to 'optimise', try it first to see whether it works, I did not 'optimse' ------------ instructions ------------ - Create a directory named "Support" in the /System/Library/Frameworks/AppSupport.framework/ directory on your iPhone. - Copy the "AppSupport" and "AppSupport.original" files from the zip file to the /System/Library/Frameworks/AppSupport.framework/ directory on your iPhone. - Copy the "PhoneNumber.dylib" and "PhoneNumberTemplates.txt" files from the zip file to the /System/Library/Frameworks/AppSupport.framework/Support/ directory on your iPhone. - Optimize the "PhoneNumberTemplates.txt" file on your iPhone by moving all templates for your country to the top of the file and/or removing templates for countries that you don't need. - Reboot iPhone. The latest version of the "PhoneNumberTemplates.txt" file is available as a seperate download. --------- changelog --------- build 10 - patched AppSupport for 1.1.3 was replaced with a faster version (from AppSupport_113_Patched_V2.zip) build 9 - patched AppSupport for 1.1.3 was added build 8 - added support for multiple cross-country IDD codes Last edited by karen2lee; 02-10-2008 at 06:52 AM. |

It is a bit strange. Even without AppSupport patch, the caller ID should be shown. The patch allows matching of caller ID with your Contacts.
So did you check whether the other party provides caller ID. For example, in the country I am in, some IDD calls provide no caller ID. Some company use T1 links which do not provide caller ID. These calls will show 'Unknown'. Other not matched calls show the caller ID numbers. Those set their phone lines to hide caller ID will show 'Blocked' So your case seems a bit strange - might not be related to the setting in iPhone. Did you check calls from other callers? |

Any calls from any callers will show up as Unknown. When I was using a SIM solution (hyper-card), it worked perfectly -- thus my assumption that it is something on the unlocking method.
However, I haven't been able to find too many people with the same problem, one person at most. :/ |

New development: I used my SIM chip in my old phone and, surprise surprise, caller ID unknown!! Tried on a thrid phone, same deal! I wonder what the heck happened.. did the HyperSIM damaged my SIM card (cuts made in plastic only)? Did it reprogrammed or something? Is it my carrier?
Spook 75, have you also previously used a SIM solution? Last edited by zyzzy; 02-10-2008 at 09:31 PM. |

I'm in Brazil. The point isn't the country, however, as it was working with a SIM piggyback solution (hypersim). Somewhere between removing the HyperSIM and unlocking OTB 1.1.2 the thing got broken.
I'm questioning now, however, if it was really the unlock.Since my SIM presented the same problems on 2 other non-iphone, I think the HyperSIM messed my chip up--- or something. |

Same problem here. i also used unlock.no method which was straight forward. that site also has a solution for this caller id problem through installer but only supports 1.1.1. so i guess just wait a while till they write another solution for 1.1.2.
