Exclamation [1.0.2 - 1.1.1 OTB] Activate / Jailbreak / Unlock / Upgrade

Hi all,

I have a 1.1.1 OTB phone that I upgraded to 1.1.2 perfectly well. Unlock, activated, jailbroken OK.

Unfortunately, when I tried the Installer "soft 113 upgrade" method of upgrading to 1.1.3, there was not enough free space on the phone, and the upgrade failed part of the way through. I panicked, and "itunes restored" the phone. I suspect this restore was done to 1.1.3.

I then managed to get it into recovery mode, and have been able to get it "shift+restored" to 1.0.2.

I have an AT&T SIM from another iPhone, but not the original that shipped with my iPhone. I inserted this into the phone.

iTunes will not talk the phone now, due to "incorrect sim" message, meaning that I'm unable to restore to another FW version, so I want to try and activate/jailbreak/unlock at 1.0.2, and then upgrade up to 1.1.1, 1.1.2 and then 1.1.3.

I've tried an iBrickr 0.91 Jailbreak, but the phone goes into a reboot loop, displaying scrolling text. I tried this method twice, both times leaving the phone alone for 10 minutes, but the cycle just repeated, over and over, with no progress.

I'm concerned that the "iTunes restore" to 1.1.3 has buggered things up by upgrading the modem firmware - can anyone confirm?

Any help appreciated, many thanks in advance.

Update:

I managed to get the phone into restore mode, and have been able to do an upgrade to 1.1.1. iTunes finished with Error 1015 - the restore was not successful.

I now have the USB/iTunes Logo screen. Can anyone suggest anything?

Thanks

Woah.. marathon.

I ran iBrickr 0.91, and chose the "reboot your phone" option. The phone subsequently stayed green, meaning that iBrickr recommended that the phone was NOT OK, and I should use iTunes to restore.

I restored 1.1.1 in iTunes for a second time, and it finished with Error 1015 again. So I ran iBrickr again, and chose to "Boot the phone". This time the phone went Red, and rebooted correctly to the Activation screen.

I've been able to Jailbreak/Activate now, but not able to Unlock with AnySim 1.1. I assume this is due to modem FW 04.03.13_G.

Err, anyway to downgrade the FW?

Cheers

you don't need to unlock at 1.1.1
after Jailbreak at 1.1.1 you Have to Install Optoprep from installer
Downgrade basebase with iclarified guide to get baseband at 4.01.13G
then Shift Update to 1.1.2
Jailbreak again with window.bat
Unlock with 1.1.2u anySim if you want to stay at 1.1.2
if you want 1.1.3 then do Softupgrade 1.1.3-3
DO baseband upgrade to 4.03.13G from iClarified
Unlock with anysim 1.1.3
Done

Thanks Kalali - you saved me!

The story has a happy ending. I downgraded the Baseband to 4.01.13_G via the iClarified source and successfully unlocked with AnySim 1.1.1.

I then had the "No Signal" problem, but decided to take a chance and upgrade to 1.1.2 despite this. I did OKtoPrep, then Updated in iTunes to 1.1.2. After that, I ran the Dev teams Java based Jailbreak/Activate, and then unlocked with AnySim 1.2.1u. Now the phone was fully functional, with Vodafone SIM and plenty of signal!

I then installed the BSD Subsystem again, and ran the Soft 1.1.3 update. This went perfectly, and the phone is now 1.1.3 with Baseband 4.02.13_G.

Many thanks to the Dev team and the poor souls whose stories I've had to read to find out where to go. Particularly Kalali, as I didn't realise I could downgrade the baseband before your post.
