I upgraded to 1.1.3 sucessfully using Dev Team method. Everything works fine except there is a issue with Time Zone. I changed the time zone in Settings > General > Date & Time > Time Zone to Hong Kong, but when I looked under the World Clock, the time seems to stay at PST (ie. Los Angeles shows up the same as the time I set for the phone while Hong Kong time is calculated based on Los Angeles' time. Anyone else experiencing the same?
I found this from apple support which advice I restore in itune to fix the problem. I guess that's not an option for jailbreak phone, am I correct? Any suggestion on how to fix this? http://discussions.apple.com/thread....232&tstart=105 |

Pardon me if this question sounds stupid, but I'm still new to all this...
How do you exactly change that to chmod 777 /var/db/timezone? Would anyone care to explain how to do it (step by step, if possible) in lay terms? Many thanks in advance |

SSH in, type that command exactly as shown. The problem is that the directory /var/db/timezone isn't writable by the mobile user, and this is where the chosen timezone info is stored. That command makes it writable by any user. It's been discussed here before; OP should learn to search before starting threads :p
