Update
Here's a twist. Plugging the phone into another computer (my MacBook) which is still running iTunes 7.4.2, the "Other" stuff totals only 32.2mb. So: iTunes 7.6 = 192mb of installed stuff iTunes 7.4.2 = 32.2mb of installed stuff Anyone else getting this? I don't know which one to trust. Is there a unix command that can report free space? Maybe I can find out in Terminal what the real figure is.... |

And another detail that seems to point to the 1.1.3 update.
I just tried my girlfriends phone. She has a 1.1.2/jailbroken/AnySIM phone (exactly like mine before I tried the 1.1.3 update). Plugging hers into the computer that runs iTunes 7.6 shows she has 156.2mb of "Other" installed. Plugging it into my MacBook running iTunes 7.4.2 shows......she has 156.2mb of "Other" stuff installed. Exactly the same.

Moved Applications from / (default) to /private/var/applications Moved /Library/Ringtones (default) to /private/var/Ringtones Moved /System/Library/Fonts (default) to /private/var/Fonts ...is this going to be an issue? Everything works fine and BossTool says I now have over 100MB free on the OS partition. is /private/var/xxx wrong location? |

I get 190 MB or so Other in iTunes 7.6 after Dev Team soft upgrade as well. I did find that restore.zip (160 MB or so) was left in /private/var/ after the upgrade, deleted it. But I didn't plug phone into iTunes before I did this to see how much was used before I erased the 160 MB file.
So 190 MB Other iTunes 7.6 after soft upgrade and deleting restore.zip. Used Windows with modded install.sh that would use a pre-downloaded 1.1.3.ipsw intead. 1.0.2 OTB IPSF 3.9 BL 04.02.13_G baseband (retained 1.1.2) |
