Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I followed the instructions and tried copying required files to iphone using winscp, however, the files somehow do not get transferred completely and now my SMS app on my iphone refuses to open!

I definitely had to remove mine manually through SSH. I even waited a while cause I wasn't sure, so I know I rebooted a few times (cause I was having Installer issues... of course I was actually just out of space in my root partition).

so, gonna need some more info: did the mac tutorial to update/jailbreak 1.1.3 with dev team method, all went fine except for the phone displaying "unsufficient disk space, delete music/movies/photos" (or similar) in the end, phone then rebooted as it is supposed to and stuck on the apple logo for several minutes. couldnt help it but restore to 1.1.1, then back to 1.1.2.
why did this occur?

I got some errors when preforming this and the end result was i had to do a restore to 1.1.2
I then restored to 1.1.1 and jailbreaked
Then i installed OkToPrep
I then upgraded to 1.1.2

But i can never jailbreak 1.1.2, it always crashes on the jailbreak. Says "Reading Flash" or something like that.

I've tried this process over and over again and still wont jailbreak 1.1.2 for me!

Would there be any files left on my phone from this 1.1.3 upgrade method that are screwing with the 1.1.2 jailbreak?

What's the purpose of the daemon com.devteam.rm? Is it just to remove the mentioned files after the first boot?

I asked because using UiCtl, that devteam daemon is still loaded. Can it be unloaded without any ill effects?

Thanks.

Exclamation Size of root ("/") partition decreased?

Hiya,

Did the DevTeam-update (v1.1.3) successfully. But just realised that the root partition ("/" or "/dev/disk0s1") changed the size from 300 MB to 266 MB).

I ran "df -m" on the iPhone before and after the update, that's why I realised that something has changed. But this means that I don't have any space anymore for additional applications, since I am missing 34 MB.

I just wonder how we are supposed to install future 3rd party applications, when the partition that holds these applications changed its size?

Any ideas how to fix the problem, if it is a problem?

Regards,
Stephan

By looking at the com.devteam.rm.plist -file, one could assume that it's sole purpose is to remove the leftovers after reboot but apparently it's not doing so.

Aaah, it has the key "OnDemand" and thus it's not to be actually executed at boot. Don't really know what's the purpose of this then.

Anyway, I it should be safe to remove the file /private/var/disk0s1.dd.

You can just move you Applications to the Media partition (you will have to if you want to install more than a few apps). There are guides around here somewhere.
