I only wish it was that simple. Its stuck in booting up, nothing recognizes the phone. ibricker says no iphone is connected, i tunes doesnt pick it up. Now it tells me the battery is dead from trying to boot, charge it to 20% or w/e it needs to turn on and attempts to boot right away. Also killing the battery again, im stuck in this never ending loop.

I finally got it.....woot! Guys and gals....just be patient. I ran into the "not restoring to 1.1.1 problem....turned out, I needed to let go of the power button as soon as the screen went black....this enabled me to boot to restore at a black screen on the first restore to 1.1.1.
Next issue was not connecting using the WinSCP....MAKE SURE YOU INSTALLED THE SSH.....goto your install app and click instal.....navigate to "OPENSSH" and install that....that immediately got me past the Connection error and I then was successful in dragging over the "lockdownd" file to the phone side. After disconnecting from itune and rebooting both itunes and my phone....i then reconnected my phone and bam it was done. Be patient and make each step count! chris PS: THANK YOU PSYBERT....YOU DA MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Here is my opinion:
#1 - if you are an AT&T subscriber, I don't see why you wouldn't want to do this??? this is the best upgrade you will ever do! to have the latest baseband / faster clock speed / nikitia for 3rd party apps / + legit 1.1.3 and all working updated programs and bug fixes. #2 - do not use nate true's method, since the dev team has confirmed that it breaks nikita (the program used to run 3rd party apps from apple) meaning, in 1 month if you want to buy any 3rd party apps from apple you will have to completely redo this process... #3 - this is a gripe/ I don't understand why people read the whole 13 step process and then reply with some stupid phrase like "i skipped step 4 and did this" or "i have a 1.1.2 and i did this and nate trues method then reverted and then went to step 8 cause i like that # and i dunno why my phone doesn't work" I folled the steps perfectly. subsituting nate/true method for the legit Dev team 1.1.3 and everything works! mail, google maps + locations, wiggly icons, multitap keyboard, faster clock speed, voice mail password sticks, categories works, BOSS tool free space mover works, all my ringtones work AND were also synced via itunes with no mecca patch and no weird ass renaming. straight up .m4r open in itunes, add to sync list, click a button and booya. sooooooo. if you have AT&T and you wanna go to 1.1.3, this method works perfectly. 110% worth it. no problems on my end week 26 1.1.1 phone updated to 1.1.3 with 4.3.13g modem / baseband / etc / etc |

Thanks for the tutorial! Everything worked perfectly for me using AT&T
Not sure why this thread is under the 'Unlocking' category. Can a mod move it to 'General'? This is just a jailbreak!!! not unlock!

Can confirm this upgrade worked perfect so far on a 1.12 built 1st week of 08.
Only question I have is I'm showing nearly 300meg in the other section. Is that normal? Haven't added any apps. Did do the bosstools and the soft update cleaner? Thanks Brian |
