i saw some people putting new version firmware 1.1.3 in their iPhones.
a change on baseband version exists ( now it is 04.03.13 ), but, people who do this reports the bootloader version doesn't change. so my cuestion is: the bootloader version change with this update? or what I say before told us we'll have a beautiful iPodTouch for month? bcause how i remember, u guys needed a new bootloader version, not only a new baseband version. of course all about it is in progress, dev team working on it, but my cuestion is if you can following previous steps thx PS: sorry my english

Wrong: The bootloader DOESN'T change with firmware upgrade! If it was possible to change the bootloader through software update, 1.1.2 OTB would have been unlocked long time ago, someone would have written a new bootloader ![]() Instead, the bootloader (flashed on a chip) controls which baseband software can be loaded into the iPhone. Bootloader 3.9 allowed for a baseband with the same version as the current one in the iPhone to be reloaded, thus allowing a patched version of the baseband to be loaded. Enter bootloader 4.6. This bootloader (which first appeared on 1.1.2 OTB iPhones) allows only a NEWER version of the baseband to be loaded, so patching the 1.1.2 OTB baseband doesn't work So, when you load the 1.1.3 firmware on an 1.1.2 OTB iPhone, the bootloader will allow this, and upgrade the baseband to the new 4.03.13 version. This is also the general idea behind the 1.1.2 OTB software unlock. Take a part of the new 4.03.13 baseband called the secpack, and attach it to a patched version of the 4.02.13 which came with the 1.1.2 OTB. When loading such a baseband, at least theoretically, the bootloader would be fooled by the new and valid secpack, and allow the loading of the unlocked baseband The 4.6 bootloader WILL NOT allow for a lower version to be loaded after that, so everyone that loaded 1.1.3 on their 1.1.2 OTB iPhones will have to wait for the 1.1.4 secpack, unless there is some other way to soft-unlock a 4.03.13 version baseband

3.9 bootloaders would have to upgrade first and then overwrite the bb firmware. No bootloader was designed to allow downgrades. But you can trick a 3.9 to load an older, newer, hacked bb fw by editing the version to match the one that is currently installed! |

Given that a new iphone OTB costs $400 the total is $500 as the cost of 1.1.1 with a 3.9 bootloader is around 600 to 700 dollars on ebay! |
