I've followed instructions for a jailbreak - this one: http://brandosiphoneblog.com/Blog/En..._*Update*.html -, after the Installer app on my phone stopped working corectly (It didn't do the updates anymore and any new app I tried to install it crashed. It also stopped working at all when I tried to reinstall it).
Now - after trying to "Boot from Recovery" during the jailbreak process - my phone says "Activate Phone" (connect to iTunes) and "SIM Locked - insert an unlocked and valid SIM to activate iPhone", beside "slide for emergency". So, basicaly, even if I know that, in theory, the 0000 SIM PIN should work I can't enter it anywhere. I'm saying that the 0000 SIM PIN should be working because I bought the phone already jailbroken and with firmware 1.1.2 and it was working well on the Orange network in Romania until this mishapp with the Installer.

So now, after downgrading to ver 1.1.1, the phone says it doesn't recognize the SIM... What should I do? Does anyone know what similar instructions to Brando's I can follow?

Click on Settings -> General -> About and check if your IMEI is there at all.

If not, you need to revirginize and reunlock your phone then upgrade to 1.1.1.

It's actually pretty easy now. If you have the "Unlock Tools" source already installed...there's an app called Revirginizer. Run that, then Restore to 1.1.1 again and you should be good to go.

Got an iPhone that was only recognizing AT&T sim. Any other I got a message that no SIM was inserted.

Today I dowgraded baseband and flashed it with v1.1.1 (original phone version) but now phone doesn't even recognizes AT&T SIM.

Any advice welcome!

problem is while unlocking you dont put a sim card with a sim password on it . Disable the sim card password feature with another phone . I mean turn the pin code off .

and untill you install anysim to your iphone always put at&t sim card inside . While installing anysim put your new sim card.
