Hi everyone,
I've been reading through the wealth of info on here, but unfortunately haven't been able to find what I need to get my iphone working. I bought it used from eBay, knowing it was bricked and hoping to be able to fix it. Here are the details the seller gave me: -8 gb iphone, was software unlocked, firmware 1.1.1 -used by seller for one month, but then iphone would not charge/connect to itunes via usb -seller was advised to remove a file called "lockdownd" in order to fix the usb problem, but it bricked the iphone When I received it the first thing I did was charge the iphone using an ipod firewire cable, iphone charged fine. After charging, I turned on the iphone, and the black screen with the silver Apple logo loads, but then nothing happens, just hangs. Was hoping I could do a restore, but I can't get the iphone to mount on my Macbook Pro. Tried all the restoring methods listed on here, but regardless, couldn't get my Macbook Pro to recognize the iphone through usb. One thing I did notice is that when connected via USB to my Mac and turned on, the Apple logo screen will appear, and then after a few minutes the screen will flicker and then the phone seems to restart, only to hang on the apple logo screen again. Some other important info: Don't know for certain if it has 1.1.1, since the phone is bricked I can't check this. I do know from the box that it's a week 41 iPhone. I am located in Canada. The seller was also located in Canada. I have itunes 7.5 (19) installed. Looking at my itunes library file, there is no iphone folder there. Perhaps my itunes is not programmed to recognize the iphone as it's not supported for use in Canada? Any help would be appreciated! Last edited by r2traps; 12-29-2007 at 09:34 AM. |
