This guide shows you how to unlock iPhone 1.1.2 easily. Basically you need to upgrade to 1.1.2 first, than downgrade it to 1.1.1, and than upgrade it to 1.1.2 again.
Note this guide used *SIM which is not recommended by iPhone Dev Team. Try it at your own risk. http://www.winandmac.com/mobile/ipho...ck-iphone-112/ You only need to run 16 easy steps for doing so. Stage 1: Having the 04.02.13G baseband at 1.0.2 Step 1. Upgrade to iPhone 1.1.2 using iTunes no matter you are in 1.1.1 or 1.0.2 Step 2. After upgrade, iPhone say “incorrect SIM”. Press iPhone’s Home+Power button for few seconds, it will restart and show you the Apple logo, keep holding. When the screen turns dark, release the power button but keep holding the Home button. Step 3. Open iTunes now, when it shows you the iPhone is in restore mode, click okay and release the button. If you can’t get in or getting error (1) or (5), try to repeat step 2. Than, press and hold “alt” key and click “restore” button. Choose iPhone 1.1.1 firmware now. Step 4. You will get error (1015) in the end. When you see the iTunes logo on the iPhone, run iNdependence now. You may also need to run Activity Monitor, quit process of iTunesHelper and iTunes itself. Step 5. You should now see the Activate iPhone screen. Proceed the jailbreakme.com guide here. ONLY follow step 1-9. Step 6. After you enter to springboard, use iNdependence to install SSH now. Step 7. Download anySIM 1.2.1u from iPhone elite team. We packed it as a .app program so that it is easier. Run iNdependence now and let your iPhone connect to the Wi-Fi. Choose “Customize” in iNdependence, click “Applications”. Add the downloaded anySIM 1.2.1u to Application > User. f112un04.png Step 8. Run anySIM 1.2.1u from the iPhone. After you see “unlock successful”, close iPhone and turn it on again. Step 9. At the springboard, click the “Installer.app” icon. From the list, choose “Tweak(1.1.1)” and then choose “OktoPrep”. Stage 2: Upgrade to 1.1.2 Step 10. Open iTunes Now. Choose “Update”. It should show you to download the latest firmware 1.1.2. Just click “Yes” to update it. Step 11. After update is complete, download and extract this 1.1.2 jailbreak pack and run the “jailbreak.jar”. Put it on the desktop and run. run jailbreak. Step 12. Restart the iPhone when you see it said “finished”. After the first restart, the iPhone will automatically restart itself again. Than, it should come to springboard with Installer.app and SSH. And the iPhone should pick your carrier signal. f112un01.png Stage 3: Fix the phone dialing hang and enable international keyboard Step 13. Run “Installer.app” from iPhone now. Choose to install “BSD Subsystem” from the list. Step 14. Click the “source” tab from “Installer”. Choose “Sources”, click “Edit” and than click “add”. Type “http://cynix.org/iphone.plist”. Remember to click “Done” and than click “refresh”. f112un05.png Step 15. Choose “Tweaks (1.1.2)” from “Install” tab. And install “iWorld” and “More keyboards for 1.1.2″. After you install “More keyboards for 1.1.2″, it will tell you restart the iPhone. Don’t restart it now. Actually we will restart it after running iWorld in step 16-17. Step 16. Go back to springboard. Run “iWorld”. Choose your country from the list. Apply the setting by clicking “Okay. let’s do it”. Step 17. Wait for a few seconds, it will tell you to restart.After all, your iPhone works properly. iPhone 1.1.2 firmware make call. Stage 4: Custom ringtones. Step 18. Actually the old SendSong 0.21e still works for 1.1.2, so install it from “Multimedia” of “Installer.app”. Step 19. Create a new playlist in iTunes. Put your ringtone files in it. Remember to convert them into m4a files. Delete the mp3 files from the list. Step 20. Sync it to iPhone. Than, run the SendSong program, send it as ringtone and you’re done. |

Step 1: change the word "upgrade" to "restore" - it's minor but important and less confusing for newbie. Alt-Click restore or and select 1.1.2 firmware image. Also from your write up, it looks like you start out using itunes 7.5. May be it's important to mention the itunes version you are using. Last edited by dtube; 11-23-2007 at 06:40 AM. |
