"1. Download the 1.1.1 ipsw firmware file from Apple. If the downloaded file has the extension ".zip", please remove it and modify it to end up with a filename ending in _Restore.ipsw"
Where I found that file to download?. I don't have 1.1.1 on my computer. |

This does not work.
Using iTunes 7.4.2, iNdependence 1.2.5 and 1.3beta2, and iPhuc, it is not possible to bump a 1.1.1 phone (after 1015 error) with unlocked 1.1.2 modem firmware out of restore mode (with the cable and iTunes icon.) It gets stuck in endless reboot. The only way out is to restore to 1.1.2, then force DFU mode in iTunes (by holding down home button+sleep buttons, then releasing sleep button when screen goes dark) and Option-Restore to firmware 1.0.2. iNdependence is able to bump it back to normal screen after 1013 error, then activate etc. |

Well, I just restored to 1.1.1 one more time, got the 1015 error and this time Independence did manage to get it out of recovery mode. Lots of time wasted today until this happened.

I have attempted to downgrade to 1.1.1 after foolishly updating 1.1.2. I have downloaded the 1.1.1 IPSW. When I try to get my iPhone into restore mode, iTunes doesn't recognize it. The screen goes dark, and I continue holding the home button, but it eventually just shuts down. Any suggestions? I am absolutely stuck at this point and i miss good old 1.1.1

The good news is that any 1.1.2 with bootloader 4.6 works perfect with the downgrade to 1.1.1, OktoPrep, then upgrade to 1.1.2, and 112jb method to jailbreak. All we need now is an unlock tool for bootloader 4.6....

I note from my experience, that you will have more success going direct from 1.1.2 (after the upgrade/restore) to 1.1.1 direct and then bumping out of DFU mode using iPhuc or independance (or even ibrickr 0.91) rather than going the 1.1.2 ->1.0.2 -> 1.1.1 way. I found if going this route, I needed to restore twice with the 1.1.1 firmware in order for iPhuc (in windows) to bump it out of DFU. I later re-did this and used iBrickr with the same result.
