I can't even get the firmware to downgrade!!! PLEASE HELP!!! i've been trying to figure this out for hours!!!

i had 1.1.1 with installer app and upgraded to 1.1.2 with installer app but then things were acting up so i decided to restore. But now its stuck on 1.1.2. I want to go back to 1.1.1.

I tried this method on the first page. I tried using itunes 7.4 but it didn't do anything. So now i tried itunes 7.5 and it just says: "An unknown error occured (1403).

So what does this mean?! why won't it downgrade??

i renamed the restore.plist to restore.ipsw. So what do i do!? please help meeee!

I completed the downgrade and used iphuc to kick it out of recovery mode but now I get a message saying there is no signal and the phone will not activate. If I go back to 1.1.2 to activates imediately. Anyone seen this? Much appreciated.

If it's 1.1.2 out of the box then the answer is very easy: You cannot unlock the iPhone, just jailbreak and activate.

And you know what? It was written in this thread!

Baseband (the s**t that makes the phone work, in a nutshell) has been upgraded to a version that 1.1.1. can't use. So, you either need to downgrade the baseband or get the full jailbreak to actually work. I get to step 5 here and the jailbreak.jar just won't connect. I have yet to sniff out a solution for this. Much love to anybody with some advice.

Does Independence run on the Mac? (I couldn't run it on the iphone if it is in that dead mode)

I have Panther only or a PC with Windows XP. Does anybody know how to take the iphone out of DFU mode or a Windows application for that?

It entered in that mode after installing iRadio or just because it detected there's a new update (not because I connected to itunes. I never do that)
