Instead of the shotgun approach of chmod -Rf like this.
I would do:

chmod +x /Applications/anySIM.app/anySIM

2. Descriptive guide to Kick out of DFU by Win PC software on 1.1.1 after restoring from 1.1.2
1. On a Mac running MacOS X 10.4 (not 10.5):
* Download iPHUC from http://code.google.com/p/iphuc/
* Run iPHUC in a Terminal window.
* You should see an "(iPHUC Recovery)" prompt.
* Enter "cmd setenv auto-boot true", "cmd saveenv", and "fsboot" (each on their own line).
* Wait for iPhone to reboot -- may take a minute.

2. On a PC running Windows XP:
* Download iBrickr from http://cre.ations.net/creation/ibrickr
* Unpack in a directory of your choice.
* Run iphoneinterface in a Command Prompt window.
* You should see an "r_recovery" prompt.
* Enter "setenv auto-boot true", "saveenv", and "fsboot" (each on their one line).
* Wait for iPhone to reboot -- may take a minute.

For more info / examples, google "iphone fsboot".

Enjoy!

After I enter each command, I get the (Terminal) message: bus error, [logout], Process complete...

Any suggestions/thoughts? Thanks....

Are you seeing:
could not locate symbol '__sendCommandToDevice' in '/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileDevice.framework/Versions/A/MobileDevice.
If so, your Mac's MobileDevice framework isn't matching the one iPHUC was built for. I thought it only was a problem under MacOS X 10.5, but it's probably related to what version of iTunes you have installed instead.

If you have a PC, try going that route or check in with the iphuc folks at http://code.google.com/p/iphuc/ and see if they have a solution to the problem.

It's at http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite....a_Restore.ipsw. A great place to find links to all versions of the iPhone software (and lots of other useful tidbits) is at iphone.unlock.no.
