I think people are confusing *new*, OOB 1.1.2 phones with *upgraded* 1.1.2 phones.
Just to be clear, if I understand correctly, at present there is no way to unlock new OOB 1.1.2 phones to work with other sim cards? |

Hi. I have a PC and am stuck in the downgrading procedure. I tried to open INdependence using Virtual Daemon manager but it did not work. I have also tried launching iBrickr, but nothing happened. So my iphone is still stuck on the original 1.1.1 connecting to itune screen. Any idea what I could do?

For a 100% chance to kick out of DFU in 1.1.1, I found that after unlocking using anySIM 1.2 in 1.0.2, (dont go straight to 1.1.1) - go back to 1.1.2, then drop back to 1.1.1 and you can use ibrickr 0.91 or use iPhuc (1. cmd setenv auto-boot true, 2. cmd saveenv, 3. cmd fsboot) and you will then be able to kick it out and into the activation screen. Try this |

However, there is a way to use an OOB 1.1.2 phone - the turboSIM method works a treat (i can say this as mine works so sweet with it) There are plenty of posts on this site. Spend the 59Euros and get a TurboSIM and experience freedom once again ;-) |

I was on 1.1.1 unlocked with IPSF and on UK T-Mobile and everything was working fine. i updated to 1.1.2 and again all was fine and unlocked. I then decided to try and downgrade and after alot of hassle am finally back on 1.1.1 but the phone no longer shows a signal or carrier even though when i run IPSF it tells me the phone in unlocked. what do i need to do??

I use MAC on the downgrading process until my iphone went on to the DFU mode. iNdependence did not work in my Mac, maybe because I have itunes 7.5. So, I then went to my PC and did iBrickr and was able to get out from DFU mode.
