One question though:

Whats the difference between downgrading to 1.0.2, do all necessary work, and then upgrade back to 1.1.1 and going straight from 1.1.1 without downgrading.

I am aware of that going straight from 1.1.1 has proven itself a little harder, bur look aside that. Whats the difference?

If your running 1.1.1 you don't have to downgrade to 1.0.2. After your done with CARNAVAL it will bring you right to the sprinboard with installer app. In 1 step you can by pass the 100 unnecessary steps needed to get you to this point. I did it and it worked for me.

Someone has to take those "ultimate giudes" down. The information is very complicated unnecessary and outdated.

I agree, I used the ultimate guide but had trouble while renaming a file, forgot to remove the "." in lockdownd and that caused the iphone to act slow as hell, i realized almost 1 hour later...

Just restore your phone back to 1.1.1 and let CARNAVAL do it's thing. It doesn't get easier than that.

You have to activate your phones wifi and enter a jailbreak link in safari but instructions are provided in the program itself step by step. The rest is automatic. It's real easy. I did it with a brand new phone right out of the box last night and it worked like a charm. If I can do it anyone can.

Sorry, but I don't think those guides need to be taken down YET.
Mine is not outdated at all and is not complicated if you know what your doing.
CARNAVAL acts like TouchFree normal version + adds BSD I think. You still have to do some proccess which are detailed in my guide.
Also I am going to put a one step activation.
some people have luck with some guides.Some have problems with TouchFree (I have none ever with any version) and others are reportingproblems with CARNAVAL.
