Hello everyone, I've been searching the forums and asking in the IRC channels with no luck, so maybe here Sam or one of the Devs will maybe read this and give an answer (if it exists).
I have unbricked one iPhone the other day, returned it to 1.0.2, then downgraded the baseband, returned to virgin state. There I activated, made the pre 1.1.1 modifications, then updated to 1.1.1. Everything went fine and dandy. Then I activated again, jailbreaked, SSH... and finaly installed AnySIM 1.1.1 on it. Here comes the nasty part : I set autolock to never, bla bla bla... I launch AnySIM on it and it runs fine until it starts flashing the baseband and there it crashes, sends me back to springboard after rebooting the phone. The problem is that doing this it kills the baseband completely, and that means no GSM, no WIFI, no BlueThoot, no nothing... And after that I have to unbrick again, re-flash, re-bla bla bla bla I've made this one more time and same thing. It's not a permission problem, since I checked the permissions on AnySIM, and also I have already unbricked a lot of phones. But the weirdest part is that under 1.0.2 AnySIM wont crash and it will unlock the phone without a hitch. If someone can enlight me about this it would be great because I'm kind of lost... EDIT : I forgot to mention that the person needs 1.1.1 because of the international keyboard and dictionary... it's not for gadget thingys like iTunes Music Store, otherwise I would have told him to stay on 1.0.2 until next version or patch comes out. Thanks all. Last edited by arkanis; 10-24-2007 at 10:32 AM. |

downgradw firmware and reflash baseband. Now virginize your phone using elite-team method. www.iphone-elite.org Upgrade firmware to 1.1.1, jailbreak etc. After that use anysim1.1

How can I upgrade to 1.1.1? with iNdependence or iTunes? |

upgrade using the latest version on independence this will fix the 300mb problem it is just because of the simlink you have on your phone not really a big problem. the latest version of independence is 1.2.5 I think look for the latest
I think you upgrade using itunes but independence will guide you through the jailbreak and activation |

just restore with itunes to 1.1.1 that will fix the 300mb problem then use independence and follow all the steps to use your 1.1.1 phone
the unlock does not effect independence the phone can be fully working in about 7mins if you do it right |

pelpa,
Gaz was just trying to get him going quickly that's all and the restore was simply to make sure things are nice and clean. The 300 MB solution is simply the removal of symlink that was put there during the jailbreak process. for more info, try read here http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/show...=12867&page=18 . Post #172 |
