I want to clarify this matter once and for all. Please STOP throwing around the word re-virginize, cause you sound dumb as fcuk. Question: Do I need to re-virginze/virginize my phone? Answer: You ONLY re-virginize your iphone IF and ONLY IF you have unlocked your iphone with anySIM 1.02 or lesser AND you want to update it to firmware 1.1.1 1. What does Out of Box (OTB), virgin iphone means? a. You just open and take it out of the box b. You activate it legitly through ATT and have been paying their blood thirsting plans c. YOu used to unlock/jailbreak/fake activate/install 3rd party/molest it and you have re-virgnized the phone *properly* 2. Is restoring the same as virginizing? a. No, they are different. Virginizing is taking your modified iphone back to #1 above (it reflash the baseband, fix the corrupted seczones, etc). Basically re-virginizing means taking your unlocked phone to a locked out of the box condition phone. b. Restoring through itunes is the same as reinstalling your windows on pc or mac os on mac. It wipes out all the data, giving you a fresh OS. 3. Can unlock survive restore? a. anySIM 1.1 - Yes b. IPSF - Yes c. old anySIM - Yes (but do NOT use this one anymore) 4. Can unlock survive a proper virginizer? a. I won't go into details of different unlock method, but simple answer is NO the unlock will not survive 5. What is the different b/w iUnlock_reloaded and anySIM and the old 20 minute Unlock or iUnlock by Erica Sauden? a. They are ALL the same with different UI. The core code is the same. 6. Which is the best unlock method? a. The simple answer is the only true unlock is the one Apple is going to provide in the future. All current unlocks have pros and cons. 7. What are the types of unlocking your iphone (this question only applies to 1.1.1 iphone OTB)? a. You can downgrade the software to 1.0.2 (baseband is still 1.1.1) and unlock it. Final result: An unlocked iphone with 1.0.2 OS & 1.1.1 baseband. b. You can downgrade the software to 1.0.2 (baseband is still 1.1.1) to create a symlink hack, update it to 1.1.1 back and jailbreak/activate it. Final result: An unlocked iphone with 1.1.1 OS and 1.1.1 baseband. c. Use the tiff exploit and jailbreak/activate it and then unlock it 7i. What are the types of unlocking your iphone (this question only applies to 1.0.2 OTB)? a. You can unlock it as it is and have an unlock iphone with 1.0.2 OS and 1.0.2 baseband. b. You can create a symlink during 1.0.2 and update it to 1.1.1 and have an unlocked iphone with 1.1.1 OS and baseband. 8i. My phone is previously unlocked with *any unlocked software* except IPSF & anySIM 1.1, what should I do? a. Virginize it properly and follow any unlocking procedure. 8ii. My phone is previously unlocked with anySIM 1.02/iUnlock and then I unlock it again with anySIM 1.1, what should I do? a. Virginize it properly and follow any unlocking procedure. 9. I am stuck at while doing this or that, what should I do? a. Restart over by restoring your iphone (note: restore, not revirginze) 10. I bought a 1.1.1 phone, should I downgrade the baseband to 1.0.2? a. NO it is not recommended to run 1.0.2 baseband with 1.1.1 firmware (OS). b. Your best bet is to follow step #7 11. I can't "slide to unlock" to run anySIM 1.1 on my jailbroken iphone? a. You need to change the file permission to 0755 through winscp or using the command chmod. Also, install BSD Subsystem. 12. Can the unlock survive a baseband FW upgrade or downgrade? (thx to drg) IPSF - Yes, up to and including baseband FW 4.0 (the BB FW packaged with OS FW 1.1.1) AnySIM 1.02 & friends - No AnySIM 1.1.1 - No 13. AnySIM 1.1 survives a restore..and more than one restore.

AnySIM 1.1 could survive a FW restore... *IF* just the OS FW is flashed by iTunes and the baseband FW remains untouched. However anySIM 1.1 does not survive a bbupdate. Nor would it survive an upgrade from baseband FW 3.x to 4.x.

What about virgin 1.0.2 unlocked with anysim 1.1?
Where do they fall? Can they upgrade to 1.1.1 and how? Thanks!

You have good idea for iPhone user.
Below is my question: After Revirgin successfulll: by Elite Team or Geohots, IMEI will be change real (exp 011300...) or still 0049+++. If it still 0049++ (i unlocked 1.0.2 by anySIM/Unlock) which can update 1.1.1 and continue unlock with anySIM 1.1
