Then you still need to Jailbreak. Start with Touchfree and then continue. I don't know if you still require the activation proccess probably not. But maybe itunes only activates for the AT&T card. Let us know how it goes. I will be going to sleep soon.. so if I donn't answer I will tomorrow... PLEASE... don't ask silly questions or one already answered. I don't want this thread to end like the other one... |

You click the installer. Go to "Sources" and add Community Sources... if they are not in the "Sources" then look on the list of applications inside the install section.

Thanks for confirmation, it could be another. ADDED TO TUTORIAL. This is what I said before: " I am not sure I never tried. Please people use your own brain. Just use your own one and see what happens. If it let you make emergency calls I guess you can continue doing the rest. Is not like it is going to cause a nuclear explosion, right? I am trying to think...oh yes.. I think as long as the card has no pin number set (or you disable it in another phone) it may work. I think I tried with mine but I couldn't even get to emergency calls because it needed the PIN but wouldn't offer me to input it. then I think AnySIM can work no matter the card." Well for those who got a blank IMEI and ICCID and Modem firmware, I was able to unbrick it with ibrickr. However now I have no Wifi or bluetooth either and it looks like the speaker is also dead. When will this mess get fixed??

Also, may be usefull to know:
1. After doing an unlocked 1.0.2 upgraded to 1.1.1., bricked, virginizing to 1.0.2, upgrading again... I read a lot of posts and threads in a bunch of forums because I knew nothing from iPhones but I like observation... think sometimes ts just common sense! . I found some very common problems but hard to find solutions. Youtube not working, 300mb iPhones, etc. etc.2. MY observation, my thoguht is that a lot of this problems come from iPhones that went from 1.0.2 to 1.1.1. and back, and back again... The info has being running in different versions of OS... then stored in iTunes with a sync security backup. Well I'm pretty sure that backup has a sort of "dust info" dragged from those downgrades and upgrades... So when you finally upgrade you are having trouble with this and that... So my thougts are ti is BEST to fully restore your iPhone with no security copy info uploaded by iTunes. For this you should go in iTunes (windows) (Edit --> Preferences... --> iPhone) remove security copies and click on reset sync history (something like that, im translating from Spanish version). Maybe you dont want to loose your contact lists and all that stuff but I really recommend doing it this way. I sync with Outlook all the time so I didn't care about loosing that info. The 300 Mb issue (suffered that one too) has its origins here in the backup copy (by the way it can be corrected just removing de Media folder and renaming the Media_backup or Media_sync symlink to "Media"... this was a leftover by some process not finished when upgrading and/or jailbreaking, not sure). For YouToube problem saying "You have to connect to iTunes bla bla bla...." I solved this because I was able to restore my certificates from the backup I made (in this case just revert the operation, connect iPhone to iTunes, reboot, reinstall new certificates, reboot... that solved my problem), Bluetooth and Low Sound issues reported (I had them all) somehow are gone when fully restoring without letting iTunes backing up from security copy. I checked it myself twice (2 iPhones) That is the best way I can tell about having a succesful 1.1.1. jailbraking, unlocking and activating, as clean and smooth as possible. Thats why OTB 1.1.1. have less trouble with this. Just a thougt. Sorry if my English is not that clear. Have a Nice 1.1.1 stay. Last edited by luigidelgado; 10-24-2007 at 02:14 AM. |
